Chennai Election Results 2011
Chennai Corporation Local Body Mayor Election results are to be announced today October 21 2011 (Friday).Counting of votes begins at 8 am in the morning.Will update this post once results starts coming in.One can watch the results live in Sun News, Jaya Plus, Puthiya Thalaimurai TV, NDTV-Hindu, Dinamalar, Dinakaran.Tamil Nadu TN Chief Minister CM ADMK Supremo J Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi, MK Stalin campaigned in the election.
Major Mayorial candidates are Saidai Sa Duraisamy (AIADMK), Ma Subramaniam (DMK), A K Moorthy (PMK), SarathBabu Elumalai (Independent), Saidai P Ravi (Congress), G Velmurugan (DMDK). Totally 32 candidates are in fray for Mayor. Election is also held to select Ward Councillors.
Apart from who is the new Mayor, Ward Councillor who won, lost the election, margin of votes will also be keenly watched.The reaction of leaders on the election result will also be watched to see how parties realign themselves after polls in Tamilnadu TN.
